Other Important Conditions of Use - PLEASE READ TO THE END

Tinnitus E-Programme materials available in the website is not a substitute for medical advice. You should always see your doctor and/or medical professional.

Debbie Featherstone has made the Tinnitus E-Programme materials available in a private capacity for enrolled Users (on CourseCraft from 1 October 2018) and registered professionals of the Tinnitus E-Programme (TEP)

All users of the online Tinnitus E-Programme (TEP) are advised of the following:
1. A medical consultation with your own General Practitioner is essential for a diagnosis of tinnitus and any additional or related health issue.  Sometimes, your doctor will recommend referral to an Ear, Nose and Throat or other medical specialist. When this is the case, medical advice should be followed
2. The Tinnitus E-Programme is available in English only and:
a) does not and cannot offer individual diagnosis or comment upon any individual's state of health
b) does not claim to be an alternative to any treatment that has been recommended by your own doctor or specialist
c) does not replace or supersede specialist assessment and is not able to offer individual assessment
3. The Tinnitus E-Programme is not suitable for anyone with a history of serious mental health conditions including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Specialist help should always be sought via your own doctor and/or mental health specialist
4. The relaxation elements of the Tinnitus E-Programme may not be suitable for anyone with a history of asthma, heart conditions, narcolepsy or any form of epilepsy or seizures. You must always consult your doctor before undertaking unsupervised relaxation
5. The relaxation elements of the Tinnitus E-Programme must never be used by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs
6. In the rare instance of any worsening of your symptoms, you must always consult your own doctor or specialist
7. These materials have been used by many people and negative side effects of relaxation are rare; however, we must point out that individuals who undertake the Tinnitus E-Programme or use any part(s) of the Tinnitus E-Programme materials do so at their own risk. Neither Debbie Featherstone, nor any other clinicians involved, accept any liability for any unwanted or negative effects attributed by individuals to the use of any of the contents of the Tinnitus E-Programme
8. Individuals downloading any of the contents made available for the Tinnitus E-Programme, do so entirely at their own risk
9. Where an individual chooses to join the Tinnitus E-Programme on-line forum or Facebook page or group, agreement to all the above conditions is implied
10. The Tinnitus E-Programme external on-line forum and Facebook group are both moderated, and anyone joining the forum, page or group is expected to be respectful towards all other members. Failure to meet this condition will result in the offending member being removed from the forum, Facebook page or group by the Moderator without warning or redress
11. From 1st July 2018, the Tinnitus E-Programme is no longer recommended as a self-directed (self-help only) course of tinnitus management. Everyone sending in their THI (Tinnitus Handicap Inventory) results and enrolling to use the Tinnitus E-Programme is able to access up to 60 minutes of 1-1 online therapist support including using the encrypted Zoom video platform and access to reasonable 1-1 email contact as part of their support
12. From 1st July 2018, it is possible to apply for and donate funding towards the Tinnitus E-Programme:
  • TEP Investor Donors - past TEP Users and others with an interest in improving access to Tinnitus Management are greatly appreciated
  • Applications for help with either partial or full funding will be considered on a case by case basis
13. Access to the Therapist-Led Tinnitus E-Programme is not obligatory; however, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED based upon very poor adherence to the course when self-directed following analysis since registration became mandatory in July 2017, compared with excellent adherence, completion and benefit - measured by THI (Tinnitus Handicap Inventory) category changes by those accessing TEP therapist-support since it became available as an "Opt-In" in December 2017
14. Updates about TEP therapist contact and support will be made available via the Tinnitus E-Programme Blog
15. When full capacity for TEP therapist support is reached, TEP enrolment via CourseCraft will close temporarily; during these times, there will be an option on the website to join the waiting list
